VICTORIA, TEXAS — The community is mourning the tragic loss of 25-year-old Zachary Banda, who lost his life in a devastating multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 87 North late Saturday afternoon.
According to authorities, the collision occurred around 4:35 p.m. and involved a semi-truck and two passenger vehicles. Zachary Banda was driving a Ford F-150 when the crash unfolded, resulting in severe damage and multiple injuries. Despite the swift response from emergency personnel, Zachary was pronounced dead at the scene due to the extent of his injuries.
The incident also left several others injured, including occupants from another vehicle involved in the crash. Emergency responders acted quickly to transport victims to nearby hospitals, while others sought medical care through private transportation. The driver of the semi-truck was not reported injured.
Following the crash, traffic along U.S. 87 North was diverted as authorities worked to secure the scene, assist victims, and begin an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
